Cyberterrorism Defense Analysis Center (CDAC)
The threat of cyberterrorism to our technical infrastructure is real and immediate. Computers and servers in the United States are the most aggressively targeted information systems in the world, with attacks increasing in severity, frequency, and sophistication each year. As our nation’s critical infrastructure grows more reliant on information technologies, it also becomes more exposed to attackers, both foreign and domestic. These attacks can threaten our nation’s economy, public works, communication systems, and computer networks.
Despite this growing threat, training to counter these attacks has failed to increase in response. Most classes are prohibitive, whether in terms of cost, time, and/or location. To fill this gap, the CDI program was created to provide comprehensive, transferable, and inexpensive cyberterrorism training to qualifying technical personnel throughout the United States. Personnel can come from public safety, law enforcement, state and local government, public utilities, colleges and universities, and health care providers. Depending on classroom space, consideration will also be given to other individuals working within agencies and organizations considered as a part of our nation's critical infrastructures. CDI is unique in the arena of cyberterrorism training, because the classes are brought directly to areas of critical need throughout the country, at very little cost to the participants.
Free Cyberterrorism Training
The Cyberterrorism Defense Initiative (CDI) is a national counter-cyberterrorism training program, developed for technical personnel and managers who monitor and protect our nation's critical infrastructures. CDI reaches all levels of public service, including state and local government, law enforcement, firefighting, public utilities, public safety and health, emergency medical services, and colleges and universities. Classes are free of charge to qualified personnel, and are held in easily accessible and centralized locations throughout the United States.
The two core CDI classes are Comprehensive Cyberterrorism Defense (CCD) and Cyberterrorism First Responder (CFR). In addition, CDI continues to provide two of the popular DHS-certified SENTINEL training programs, on an as-needed basis: Cybersecurity: Prevention, Deterrence, and Recovery (PDR), and Cybersecurity: Incident Handling and Response (IHR). Excess Delivery Acquistion Program (EDAP)
The Excess Delivery Acquisition Program (EDAP) are course deliveries available at cost to our targeted audience in excess of what funding will normally allow us to deliver. CDI Affiliations
CDI was developed and is administered by the Cyberterrorism Defense Analysis Center (CDAC) of the Criminal Justice Institute (CJI), University of Arkansas System. CDI is funded by a cooperative agreement from the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Training and Exercise Integration/Training Operations (TEI/TO).
